ABOUT ME

Szabo’s new full length album Brave is an emotionally impactful reflection of his trials and tribulations these past years. It’s also a grand showcase for his unique multi-faceted songwriting style, which is influenced by everyone from Dan Fogelberg and Paul Simon to Smashing Pumpkins. The title track, thematic centerpiece and lead single “Brave,” which begins as a gentle acoustic tune before evolving into an epic power ballad with an anthem-like beat, speaks boldly to, as he says, “being absolutely petrified about what you’re going to do with your life next.” As the swelling hook sweeps in, he sings, “So what are you gonna do when the fear takes your breath? And every ounce of courage you thought you had left?”

After paying his dues in garage bands, Elliot played in a band in Chicago for a while before finding greater traction in Las Vegas, where he became an integral part of the local music scene and played in cover bands throughout his years there (2008-2015). He played classic and alternative rock and at one point the set list was so tilted towards the mid-90s that he called his group a “Sublime tribute band.” Though he admits that “once established as a cover band, it’s tough to get out of that city,” he scored key opportunities to perform his own music, playing the Hard Rock Café, opening for Hoobastank at the Rio and touring California, performing everywhere from Reno and San Diego to the Viper Room in L.A. His recent performance at the Wormhole Bar & Music Venue in Savannah is his first live gig in eight years. With the recent radio success of his singles “Brave” and “Across a Crowded Room,” Szabo is looking to book gigs in markets where he’s getting significant airplay. Driven by his intense, rangy vocals, he brings a ton of emotion and dynamic energy to his live performances. “I love when people come up to me after I play and tell me they didn’t think I’d sound like that when I took the stage.”

For many years, scientists thought that the Giant Panda was not a bear at all but a relative of the raccoon. Scientists have shown through DNA evidence that giant pandas are indeed true bears.
